When one declares oneself to be a conservative, one is not, unfortunately, thereupon visited by tongues of fire that leave one omniscient. The acceptance of a series of premises is just the beginning. After that, we need constantly to inform ourselves, to analyze and to think through our premises and their ramifications. We need to ponder, in the light of the evidence, the strengths and the weaknesses, the consistencies and the inconsistencies, the glory and the frailty of our position, week in and week out. Otherwise, we will not hold our own in a world where informed dedication, not just dedication, is necessary for survival and growth.

Welcome To Another New Team Member!

Gayle joins us from myrepublicanblog.blogspot.com. She is another who has maintained her own blog for some time. Jenn had the idea to invite her some time ago, and while I suspect that she was getting a little swamped with this testosterone laden blog, Gayle is a welcome addition with her reality based perspective.

Looking forward to hearing more from her soon! She will be posting her own introduction soon, and while her presence may be rare during the holidays, she will be a great contributor as we move into a new year!

Welcome Aboard, Gayle.

Thanks, Robert! Yes, I'm truly swamped right now. Thanks for the welcome and for understanding. :)

Don't worry Gayle, I am swamped too and it helps having others here to jump in when we can't. We are very laid back here so post when you can and don't worry when you can't. I am so excited to have another woman here! It's hard enough being the only yankee! :-)

Good choice; Gayle is even liked by us liberals. :)
