Defining And Demanding A Return To Conservative Principles
When one declares oneself to be a conservative, one is not, unfortunately, thereupon visited by tongues of fire that leave one omniscient. The acceptance of a series of premises is just the beginning. After that, we need constantly to inform ourselves, to analyze and to think through our premises and their ramifications. We need to ponder, in the light of the evidence, the strengths and the weaknesses, the consistencies and the inconsistencies, the glory and the frailty of our position, week in and week out. Otherwise, we will not hold our own in a world where informed dedication, not just dedication, is necessary for survival and growth.
It is new, and we will be working to increase our footprint over there too! Please join the group and invite your facebook friends...Help spread the message!
Our Mission Statement
America wants a revitalized nation with strength and confidence. The nation needs leadership that restrains the government from stepping outside of the Constitution and provides for the general welfare of the people, providing equality of opportunity and not equality of result. We believe that the principles most appropriate for our democracy are those rooted in conservatism, distinguished from the current track of the republican party. Here we will discuss, debate, and even rant and rave in pursuing a new direction and a return to our values. We encourage active participation, and invite our readers to own a piece of our place with feedback, comments, and discussion.
We encourage all of our readers to submit pieces for publication as we are all striving for the same thing. We want to return to the principles and values that are the heart of conservatism. Our success depends on your participation! We acknowledge that everyone has a different approach to writing and all are important to our cause. Your work may be original material or a piece cross-posted to the writer's site. We will not use any works submitted by a third party. All works submitted must be within the stated goals of the site, and while satire is encouraged, libelous, criminal, threatening, or hateful materials will not be accepted. If you would like to submit a piece for publishing simply e-mail it to either Robert or Jennifer for consideration.
How can we have this without a disclaimer? The publication of featured articles does not indicate concurrence to the materials by the CC team.
We are rather laid back at Conservative Convictions. All are welcome to comment whether liberal, conservative or somewhere in between. If you do not agree with the way this blog is run, then feel free to e-mail any of us here, but personal attacks against this blog will be deleted. This blog is for discussion and debate and we look forward to your opinions!
