When one declares oneself to be a conservative, one is not, unfortunately, thereupon visited by tongues of fire that leave one omniscient. The acceptance of a series of premises is just the beginning. After that, we need constantly to inform ourselves, to analyze and to think through our premises and their ramifications. We need to ponder, in the light of the evidence, the strengths and the weaknesses, the consistencies and the inconsistencies, the glory and the frailty of our position, week in and week out. Otherwise, we will not hold our own in a world where informed dedication, not just dedication, is necessary for survival and growth.

A few days back we were having a discussion on what conservative principles were. What is a conservative? Well, regardless of what else is said, I think that Glenn got it put together in a brave and eloquent way.

When I first watched it I couldn't get up or move away from the monitor. I don't think I could have stopped watching for anything short of my chair being set on fire. I watched it again a few days ago and I still can't break in the middle. It'll be the easiest 30 min. you've ever spent with a video.

I'd like to see this embedded in every blog that reads mine or this one here. If you haven't watched it all, do so. It is profound.

Robert and I both watched it. We were talking as we were watching it, and we both got a kick out of the comment regarding Congress' approval rating. It was priceless! He is an absolute hoot!

I thought this was an excellent video, Greywolfe! Thanks for letting us know about it!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM ANOTHER CONSERVATIVE CALIFORNIAN! (There are a LOT, trust me!)

This video really is magnificent...I hope his show will be well watched when he starts on FOX in January.

Can't leave with mentioning: let's not forget to start working to get an honest media; doesn't matter how much we fight, redefine, regroup, promote conservativism...if it's only for us bloggers because the media's not getting our information out, or is demeaning anything Conservative as they have the last ten years, we're all for naught. What's the point?

Have a GREAT day..xxx Z

Dave, A blessed and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

I have to tell you that on the sports talk around here, no one is talking about Auburn/Alabama much. Because of the difference in the two seasons everyone in Tuscaloosa is looking ahead to next week's SEC game with Florida. At the moment, they seem to be terrified of the Gators, and for good reason.

I have a feeling, my friend...jsut a feeling. I was heartened about the performance in our loss to Georgia...My prediction is Auburn 19, Alabama 16.

To all of our other friends, I hope you find peace and love and many things to be thanksful for tomorrow! If you have a few minutes, drop in later as I think Jenn is working on one of her signature posts for the big day!

And last but not lest, thanks for sending that vidm Greywolfe. Jenn and I were both laughing and sighing at Glenn's speech. It was motivating and depressing at the same time. It was one of the best pieces I have seen in a while.

Very good stuff here,...
The one little morsel of knowledge I got from it,... THRIFT! When was the last time ANYBODY called that a virtue,... it sure woke my ass up, I am as guilty as anyone trying to keep up with the Joneses, etc.

If he didn't have so much baggage, the guy could run for office... But they (MSM) would kill him at the starting block...

Joe....Putting them into action is essential!

Z...an honest media? Is there a such thing? I agree that we need to find some way of getting equal and fair coverage. How to do it is the question. Hang tough there in Cali!

Tap, he was blunt and straight forward, ya gotta respect that!
